This past summer we found our little Northwest video production company out in the field doing some test filming one of my favorite subjects – FOOD! This particular filming endeavor brought us out to several local restaurants on location at Scratch downtown, and Brothers Office Pizza in Spokane Valley off of Pines.
For this run and gun production it wasn’t just filming food, but several restaurants along with the chefs and owners that create both the menus and the food that is on them. These two restaurants are extreme opposites but have lots of similarities, one of them being that they are small businesses.
One restaurant is a pizza, pasta and neighborhood bar, located out in the Spokane Valley suburbs. The other is more upscale facility, located in the downtown Spokane corridor. Both enterprises are owned and operated by entrepreneurs.
Our host and field production interviewer for the test filming was Ryan McNeice, a local Spokane attorney, co-owner of Spokane Talks Online. Ryan hosts the weekly business talks show which covers a variety of topics, subjects and features special guests.
Filming food is fun, no matter whether it’s in the kitchen, on the farm, the truck, the warehouse or restaurant floor. We love the stories, the locations, the appetizing food, and most of all the people who put it all together. Yep, it’s all about the people – the owners, chefs, wait staff and managers.
It was a day of field production with two of us on location catching all the motion and sound. The food was really, really good and the people were fun to work with. For test filming, the footage turned out to be solid and the promos were a success.
Even though we are only a small, boutique, Northwest video production company, we got the food thing down, and rest assured we bring more than just appetites to any location or setting. If you need food or beverage filmed, let’s meet and break bread or beverage to discuss further.
