Fun, fun, fun, on set filming at Picture This Stage B in Portland Oregon was had by all during the earlier part of this month. The Panasonic GH5 camera made an appearance and captured footage on both days.
We also had the Nikon D750 capturing a little bit of C camera and behind the scenes motion and photo stills. This camera was already rigged and ready to go due to working on another location in Corvallis, Oregon earlier in the week. Even though the D750 didn’t capture 4K footage the behind the scenes 1080HD motion and full frame stills turned out great.
This particular production was mostly filmed using green screen. Although filming on green screen can be challenging at times, this production was no different and Mr. Murphy showed his head as each day moved along.
The Panasonic GH5 camera footage and Canon photo stills turned out great. And this is due to having a great DOP on set.
Director of Photography Nick Grier did a wonderful job handling all the primary still photography and motion duties. He captured photo stills with a Canon 1Dx and I must say that they looked fine right out of the camera.
Most of this production was b-roll related with no audio required, but for the interviews the audio was recorded with the Tascam DR60II using a Sennheiser lav and Rode NTG2 shotgun microphone.
Almost forgot to mention that art director and set decorator Edie Bushnell was on hand taking care of the details and doing her thang. What would we do without Edie tying up all the loose ends and making sure that each scene looks like it should.
Overall a very productive couple of days on the Portland sound stage with the crew and filming with the Panasonic GH5 camera.
More fun to come in the coming months as we visit other locations, sets and stages throughout the Pacific Northwest. Oh, and by the way, it’s still not too late to have that holiday video created for all to see. Contact Us to get the ball rolling so you make it in time for Christmas and New Years!
