It’s not very often that one gets to interview and film an active duty Air Force Colonel, let alone on a KC135.
As it turns out Colonel McDaniel was wrapping up his stay here in Eastern Washington and Joe was able to work his chamber magic and arrange a Member Moment before the man in charge took his leave. So we packed up and headed over to Fairchild to get an interview with the Colonel and Joe. It was a memorable day and lots of fun as we were able to film the two of them inside and outside the aircraft. The smile on Joe’s face couldn’t have been bigger, although he might have tried.
The cockpit interview was an interesting setup for the interview. Devon can attest to this as I yelled at him from way down below and he stuck his head out through window by the the captain’s seat. To get all the action we used a GoPro, two Nikon DSLRs and the Sony with a Nikkor 35mm prime lens. Let’s just say it got interesting shuffling the camera crew around the cockpit, and doing our best to stay out of all of the cameras point of view.
There’s more to come. So stay tuned.
